the first blog post, let me take the opportunity to introduce BYU Career
Services, aka University Career Services (UCS). Located in 2410 of the
Wilkinson Center, students and alumni come to BYU Career Services for resources
to search and prepare for their career. Let's talk about some of the services
UCS provides for you.
Career Counselors. University Career Services has seven expert career counselors willing and ready to help students. They offer one-on-one help with resumes, letter writing, interviewing skills, networking, job searching, and general career information. They can point you to tools and resources, not only in our office but also online and on and off campus to help you prepare for your career. Each counselor is well-connected to companies and professionals across the nation, making them excellent resources for identifying contacts. To find out who your counselor is or to schedule an appointment, come to our office in 2410 WSC or call 801-422-6535.
Career Fairs. UCS hosts employers from all over the United States during the Fall and Winter career fairs. This is an opportunity for students and alumni to network, interview, and explore possible career options Listed below are the dates for fairs during Winter 2012:
* Winter General Career Fair – January 25, 2012
* Winter STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Fair – February 2, 2012

eRecruiting. University Career Services posts entry-level jobs specifically for college graduates on the eRecruiting website. These jobs are full-time, degree required, salary based, and come with benefits! Students can search job listings, apply for jobs, gather company information, view event schedules and market themselves to potential employers. Students can also find internships on eRecruiting. Check it out!
